Authors: Sandra Mauser, Valentin Voith, Michael Razen, Stefan Humer
Year: 2024

As part of the National Financial Literacy Strategy (NFBS) for Austria, a range of specific goals were defined in 2021 with the aim of enhancing the financial well-being of the population. Numerous institutions are contributing to the NFBS with their financial literacy initiatives, working towards achieving these goals. Through annual monitoring, data on each initiative is collected and analyzed to provide a comprehensive overview of the NFBS’s financial literacy landscape. This process allows for documenting successes achieved and identifying areas with potential for further development. The present report summarizes the findings from the first extensive monitoring of the NFBS conducted in 2023. A total of 131 active initiatives were included in the report, covering more than 90% of the initiatives registered by November 2023. The results indicate, among other things, that in 2023 there were over 100,000 workshop participants, nearly one million visits to online resources, and more than 100,000 downloads of digital educational materials.
